Our Company

A school built around how working people actually learn.

Neurogarden was founded on a straightforward premise: technical education works best when it fits around a life, not the other way around.

Our Story

How Neurogarden came to be

Neurogarden opened in Petaling Jaya in early 2022 after a period of talking with people in the Klang Valley who were trying to move into data science and machine learning work. The pattern was consistent: full-time employees, often in finance, engineering, or operations, who wanted to develop practical AI skills but found existing options either too shallow or too demanding of time they didn't have.

The founding team — practitioners from the data and software engineering world — decided to build a different kind of school. One where the pace was honest, the projects were real, and the cost of entry didn't require a career break. The name Neurogarden reflects the way the school thinks about learning: careful cultivation over time, not forced acceleration.

Since launching, Neurogarden has worked with participants from across Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asia region, with cohorts in data science fundamentals, natural language processing, and the yearlong AI engineering programme running throughout the year.

Mission & Values

What we stand for

  • Steady growth over speed

Technical understanding develops with practice and repetition, not through information overload. Every programme is paced to allow ideas to settle.

  • Honest scope

We are an educational provider. We don't overstate outcomes. Participants learn concepts and build projects; what they do with that knowledge in their careers is their own.

  • Practitioner perspective

Course content is written and reviewed by people who use these tools in their day-to-day work. The curriculum reflects current practice, not an academic snapshot from several years ago.

  • Small cohorts, real attention

Cohort sizes are kept manageable so that live sessions feel like conversations and mentors can give each participant genuine time.

Our Team

The people behind the programmes

RH

Razif Hashim

Co-founder & Programme Director

Over a decade in applied machine learning for the financial services sector. Razif leads curriculum design and oversees programme quality across all cohorts.

ST

Siti Tan

Lead Instructor — NLP & LLMs

Specialises in natural language processing and large language model deployment. Siti authored the NLP and LLM track and runs the weekly live sessions for intermediate cohorts.

DN

Darren Ng

Senior Mentor — AI Engineering

Works in AI infrastructure at a technology company in the Klang Valley. Darren mentors participants in the yearlong programme, focusing on system design and project architecture.

How We Work

Standards that shape every programme

Curriculum review cycle

Every course module is reviewed against current practice before each new cohort. Out-of-date examples are replaced; new tooling is incorporated where it adds value.

Data privacy in coursework

Practice datasets are either open-source or synthetic. Participants are not asked to share personal or employer data as part of assignments.

Participant feedback loop

A short structured survey follows each module. Responses directly inform the revision of exercises and the pacing of subsequent cohorts.

Honest scope of learning

Neurogarden is an educational provider, not a job placement agency. Programme descriptions state clearly what each course covers and what it doesn't.

Participant data protection

Enrolment and contact information is held in accordance with Malaysian data protection requirements and is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

Project integrity

The final project in each programme belongs to the participant. Neurogarden does not retain rights to project work or use it in course materials without explicit written permission.

Our Expertise

Applied AI education in the Malaysian context

Neurogarden focuses on a specific kind of technical education: applied AI and data science for people who are already in the workforce. The programmes draw from the same stack that Malaysian technology, finance, and operations teams are actually using — Python, pandas, scikit-learn, open-source language models, and the surrounding tooling for retrieval and evaluation. The school does not offer generic computing courses or broad software engineering syllabuses. The focus is narrow by design.

The Malaysian data science and AI community is developing quickly. Demand for professionals who can work with structured data, build language pipelines, and interpret model behaviour has grown across a range of industries in the Klang Valley and beyond. Neurogarden's programmes are designed to address that demand at a level of depth that introductory tutorials cannot reach, while remaining manageable for participants with full-time roles.

The Foundations course builds the practical Python and statistics foundation that data analysis work requires. The NLP and LLM track addresses the growing need for professionals who can work sensibly with large language models — not just call an API, but understand embedding pipelines, evaluation trade-offs, and retrieval architectures. The yearlong AI Engineering Programme is intended for people who want a structured, mentored year of study that culminates in a substantial personal project.

All Neurogarden content is written in English and structured around projects rather than examinations. The school's location in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya makes it accessible to participants in the Klang Valley who prefer occasional in-person contact, though the programmes are fully deliverable online.
